Employment Taxation and international assignments

An’s particular expertise relates to International Tax Law in the area of personal and employment taxation (for residents and non-residents).

She has more than 25 years of experience in advising international companies and their employees, directors and board members on international tax law topics in general and more in particular on the tax aspects of international employment and assignments (application of double tax treaties and social security directives/agreements, salary splits, expat regimes, pensions, LTI plans (stock options, RSU’s,…)).

Biography

An obtained her law degree in 1992 from the Catholic University of Leuven (KUL) and a special degree in tax law at the University of Brussels (ULB) in 1993.

She started her career with the Tax department of Arthur Andersen in 1993 and became a Tax Lawyer and member of the Brussels bar in 1997 with Loyens. Since 2001 she is a Tax Lawyer and partner of the law firm Vandendijk & Partners.

She is Chair of the Legal & Taxation Committee and Employee Tax Subcommittee of AmCham Belgium (American Chamber of Commerce in Belgium), an active member of the CCI France-Belgique (French Chamber of Commerce in Belgium) and since years a member of IFA Belgium (International Fiscal Association).

She is also a regular speaker at conferences and author of several books.

Most recently she was a guest speaker at the :

  • European and Economic Social Committee (EESC) with regard to the “Taxation of cross-border teleworkers and their employees” ;
  • International Fiscal Association (IFA) congress in Berlin on the “Tax challenges of matrix organizations”

She speaks and writes fluently English, Dutch and French.
