Head of EY's Norway Blockchain group which include 20 experts within Norwegian and international taxation, VAT, law and regulatory issues, sustainability, GDPR, IP-rights, personal taxation, accounting and audit, valuation and Integrity Due Dilligence.
The Blockchain team has advised more than 70 Norwegian and international clients on how to scale blockchain-related concepts within a tax & legal framework. Issues include everything from core blockchain tech solutions to crypto and the token economy, such as ICOs, STOs, IDOs, IEOs etc., Decentralized Finance (DeFi), DAOs, NFTs, metaverse, mining companies, tokenization of various tangible and intangible assets (including people), online video gaming, etc. Among others, the team assists several social platform players, global mining companies, crypto exchanges, solar panels producers, new global EL-car producer, a gas terminal builder, digital payment operators, crypto fund managers, real property developers, decentralised data storage, fashion industry, food producers, individuals with cryptocurrencies, etc.
Gjert previously worked for 10 years at the Ministry of Finance with international tax. Lectures regularly at BI and has written a number of articles and books, including Norway's contribution to the International Fiscal Association on three occasions. Ranked and mentioned as Band 1 tax advisor in Norway for a number of years by Legal 500, Chambers, etc.
