Mark Barges, partner in the project finance practice within the Projects and Energy Transition department of the Paris office, has extensive experience in advising on conventional and renewable energy, oil and gas, mineral resources and infrastructure projects in France, Europe, Africa and Latin America.

He has worked on a number of transactions in these sectors including the financing of wind farms, solar, biomass and biomethane portfolios, CCS and hydrogen as well as conventional IPP projects.

Mark has also advised on the financing and development of coal, oil and gas-fired IPP and mining projects, including offtake and grid arrangements, as well as infrastructure projects such as various airports, ports, rail and road projects.

He advises lenders, commercial banks, multilateral financial institutions and export credit agencies, as well as developers and sponsors at all stages of the structuring, development and financing of major projects.

Mark is qualified in Paris and England & Wales and is a recognised practitioner in the current Europe and Global editions of Chambers & Partners.
