Kow Abaka Essuman is a highly distinguished lawyer, public servant, and governance expert with extensive experience advising on complex commercial, regulatory, and public-sector matters, including corporate restructurings and high-level government transactions. He is widely recognized for his exceptional legal intellect, strategic insight, professionalism, and leadership, and for consistently delivering sound, principled, and results-driven counsel to both public and private institutions.

He is qualified to practice law in Ghana, England and Wales, and New York State, and has served at the highest levels of public service, including as Legal Counsel to the President of the Republic of Ghana and Acting Secretary to the President.

Prior to entering public service, he practised at Bentsi-Enchill, Letsa & Ankomah, Ghana’s leading law firm, where he rose to Senior Associate within four years in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice Group. During this period, he represented major corporate clients in the mining, telecommunications, and real estate sectors, as well as a billion-dollar hedge fund in New York in international litigation against the Republic of Argentina.
