Biography

Jérôme Casey is a graduate of the University of Bordeaux.

He obtained the degree of Doctor of Law in 1997, and was recruited as a tenured Lecturer in the same university in 1998. After collaborating for several years with two law firms, he was sworn in as a lawyer in 2003, first in Bordeaux, then, from 2007, at the Paris Bar.

A recognized specialist in family law and its patrimony, he is the author of a work on matrimonial regimes (Ellipses, 2000), a code of persons and family (with Professor Jean Hauser, LexisNexis, 2001), an annotated and commented code of divorce (Dalloz, 4th ed., 2021), and numerous publications with the main legal publishers (Dalloz, LexisNexis, Wolters Kluwers, Lexbase).

True to his calling as a teacher, Jérôme leads numerous training sessions for legal professionals. He is also a Training Session Director at the National School for the Judiciary, specializing in divorce and asset division.

Holding dual French and English nationality, raised in France and the British Isles, Jérôme is perfectly bilingual, and regularly serves as an expert on the state of French law in foreign disputes (United Kingdom, United States, etc.).

His preferred areas of expertise are: family law (divorce, parentage, protected adults and minors), matrimonial property law, inheritance law, as well as family business law, life insurance, and tax aspects relating to these areas.
